What does 3D printing have to do with my project? I don't think it is so much the 3D printing that has to deal with my project, but the presentation Mr. Cowen has given to us on Tuesday. He showed and gave us examples on how he uses his project to help the community. It is crazy how you could make something that cheap and if you were to buy it at the store, it would be really expensive. I thought it was an axcellent presentation and I am looking forward to anymore he has to share.

The Author's interpretation of a genius is not by being smart, but by approaching how you want to accomplish something in many different ways and making your thoughts visible. A way to make your thoughts visible is to write it down or collect data along the way so you know what works and what doesn't. Genius's do not always expect to accomplish their goal, in fact they prepare themselves by a chance. They learn from their mistakes that way. This relates to my project because I can look at how I am going to approach my project in many different ways.
After reading an assigned article about Genius Hour, I have learned many things. Genius Hour is a way to learn and help the community. It is a learning experience along the way. It is a very good way of learning communication skills, and learning about yourself in the process. If you fail in the process, you can learn from mistakes. Genius Hour is kind of a way to face your fears of talking to new people. I am going to have to go around to local stores to ask permission to put my coffee cans in their store, that is very intimidating, but it will help me with my communication skills.
For my Genuis Hour Project I plan to donate money to the Almost Home Animal Shelter in Quinnesec, Mi. In order to raise the money to donate, I am going to put old coffee cans around some stores in the community of Iron Mountain and Kingsford. This month I will cut holes in the top of the coffee cans and go to local stores and ask permission to put the coffee cans in their store to be donated. I will tape on the front of the cans what it is about and who the money is for. I plan on leaving them there for the month of November and picking them up on the first of December. After I collect the money I will bring the money to the shelter. :)
